Electrolysis is the only FDA approved method of permanent hair removal that works on all types of skin and hair, regardless of factors such as color, curvature, or size of the hair. To enact the miraculous hair-removing action of electrolysis, I slid a probe down to the base of the follicle. As a pocket in the skin, the follicle readily accepts the probe with little to no feeling. Now resting at the base of the follicle, alternating current is sent through the probe to excite the electrons found within the moisture of the skin. In short, this creates a heating effect that destroys hair germinating cells and cuts off the blood supply to the hair's dermal papila. All of this to arrest development of the hair and leave you with a clean, smooth, hairless appearance! There are several methods of electrolysis, but at Sleek Sheen Electrolysis I primarily use the thermolysis method. I find this method to be most effective with the quickest results.
